MUST GALA DINNER MOBILIZES SUPPORT FOR THE 2026 MT. KENYA MOUNTAIN RUN

On 21st of August 2026 Senior government officials, business leaders, academias, development partners and other stakeholders gathered at Sarova Stanley Hotel in Nairobi for the Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) Mt. Kenya Mountain Run Fundraising Gala Dinner.

Hosted by MUST Vice Chancellor, Prof. Romanus Odhiambo, the gala dinner aimed to mobilize financial support and sponsorships for the 2026 Mountain Run, scheduled to take place at the university's Marimba Campus in Meru County.

Among the guests were Principal Secretaries Mr. Gitonga Mugambi of the State Department for Forestry, who also serves as MUST Ambassador, Dr. Beatrice Inyangala of the State Department for Higher Education, Mr. Harry Kimtai of the State Department for Mining, CPA Ephantus Kimotho of the State Department for Irrigation and Ms. Betsy Njagi of the State Department for Blue Economy and Fisheries.

The fundraising initiative harnessed the power of sport to support three key causes: Education, Environmental conservation and Cancer research. The Mountain Run provides a platform for government, the private sector, academia and communities to build partnerships and mobilize resources towards initiatives with a lasting impact on society.

Through the event, MUST aimed to strengthen collaboration and raise resources that will expand educational opportunities, support environmental conservation and advance cancer research.
